Are you a potential apprentice? Or a church leader who may become an employer? We want to make it easier for young people to explore ministry, and we need your help with a consultation that is being prepared for the Welsh government.
For the past 18 months, we have been exploring what it would look like to see a Welsh Government Apprenticeship Framework in Christian Ministry. To reach this goal, the steering group we are a part of has produced the documents linked below, but now before the Welsh government will allow this to proceed further, we need to consult Christian church leaders who may become employers; and potential apprentices. The three documents below are:
Public consultation questions:
These are questions we need you to answer – please complete this questionnaire and send it to mark.griffiths@stpadarns.ac.uk by 31 February. It is important that we get as many responses to the short consultation as possible (so returns from potential apprentices as well as church leaders will be appreciated). Please note, we can only write into the boxes given, so the framework document isn’t able to present the complexities of educational aspects and the competency list which will be issued with the finished programme.
Apprenticeship overview – a general document explaining the apprenticeship:
Apprenticeship Framework – the framework that the Welsh government will be asked to approve:
If the framework is authorised by the Welsh government, we will then send out full information on the Apprenticeship Programme including details of qualifications and the government financial incentives available to church and parachurch employers.
