An award-winning Christian charity, Safe Families UK partners with churches of all denominations to offer support to vulnerable children and families.
Operating across England, Scotland, Wales and NI the charity connects struggling families with volunteers able to give support through befriending, mentoring, resources and temporary overnight hosting of children.
When socially isolated parents or carers face issues such as mental or physical illness, addiction, financial difficulty, bereavement, relationship breakdown etc., the stress brought about by the crisis may easily lead to the neglect of children in the family, and even increase the likelihood of other forms of child abuse occurring.
While Safe Families volunteers step in to help, parents and carers maintain the primary care of their children. Our volunteers act as the equivalent of wider family or neighbours, providing support and encouragement.
“Our faith-based missional approach sees us partner with almost 1,000 local churches across the UK. We recognise and affirm the Evangelical Alliance’s vision of a united church, confident in voice and inspired for mission.” — Kat Osborn, chief executive, Safe Families UK
