‘Leading on the edge’: Evangelical Alliance gathers online to unite and encourage Christians in leadership

On Thursday, 17 March at 8pm-9:30pm, the Evangelical Alliance will gather online for its second-ever online leadership conference, EALC 2022: Leading on the Edge. Leaders from across the UK church and beyond will join to share insight, challenges, encouragement and intercede for the future of the church and the communities it serves.

The online event was organised after the Evangelical Alliance saw the need for Christians who hold positions of leadership, both within the church and in other spheres of society, to share insight about the cultural shifts happening in the UK, as well as what they sense God is saying to the UK church at this moment, and to pray. The evening will be made up of a mixture of interviews, prayers and short talks, and will be free, accessible and available to all. Speakers for the evening include:

  • Amy Orr-Erwing
  • Carl Trueman
  • Fred Drummond
  • Preethy Kurian
  • Gavin Calver

And the Evangelical Alliance is excited to announce that they will also be joined by Kate Forbes MSP for an interview on life in public leadership. Viewers will join from 7.45pm to be led in worship by Lou and Nathan Fellingham, with the full teaching programme beginning at 8pm.

Gavin Calver, CEO at the Evangelical Alliance, says: “This year's Evangelical Alliance Leadership Conference feels so timely. So many leaders are tired and weary after such a challenging season. As we lead from this place, we are all still crying out to the Lord for mercy, perspective and hope. Do join us on Thursday night as we all ask what is needed for this and the next season.”

Here’s how last year’s event impacted those who joined online:

  • “Brilliant conference, prophetic words of hope and encouragement.”
  • “Well done Evangelical Alliance… A whole household edified and blessed this evening.”
  • “Loved the variety of speakers.”
  • “Such richness of perception and encouragement.”
  • “Brilliant evening! Really good! Can't wait to digest all the insight, wisdom, inspiration and encouragement!”

The Evangelical Alliance Leadership Conference (EALC) 2022 is part of the Evangelical Alliance’s wider work to unite, equip, serve, strengthen and champion the UK church. Last year, the event saw more than 5,000 views, and hopes to reach even more people this time around.

About the Evangelical Alliance

We are the Evangelical Alliance. We join together hundreds of organisations, thousands of churches and tens of thousands of individuals for the sake of the gospel. Representing our members since 1846, the Evangelical Alliance is the oldest and largest evangelical unity movement in the UK.

We love Jesus and we want everyone in the UK to be given an opportunity to know Him.

We love His church, and we will do all we can to unite evangelicals, building confidence in the gospel and speaking as a trusted voice into society to see it changed for Him.

Working across the UK, with offices in London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Belfast, our members come together from across denominations, locations, age groups and ethnicities, all sharing a passion to know Jesus and make Him known.
