This year's Simply Eat tour will help you to share two loves - food and Jesus.
Do you love to eat?
Do you love to talk about Jesus?
Have you ever tried doing both at the same time?
No? Maybe now’s the time to start.
If you’re anything like me, you’re really happy to sit down and enjoy a good meal. And you’re really happy to talk about your favourite things while you do. And one of my favourite things is Jesus. But, actually, I’m not great at being intentional about combining my love for Jesus and my love for food. Which is why Simply Eat is such a dream…
Simply Eat is an inspiring collection of stories and recipes, designed to inspire Christians to share Jesus around food. It was the brainchild of Manoj Raithatha, national coordinator for the South Asian Forum at the Evangelical Alliance: “By eating with Jesus, people got more than a conversation with Him, they got more than a message of hope, they got to experience hope Himself, to encounter God in relationship. When I saw this, it was revelatory, and I was astounded I had missed it, given that eating with Christians had been so pivotal to my own faith journey.”
And because we love the book so much, and have seen the impact it can have on empowering people to share their faith, we’re taking it on tour.
Starting off in London in July and then heading to Manchester, Bristol and Southampton in October, the Simply Eat tour is a unique way of thinking through, and being inspired to, share your love for Jesus around the dinner table.
Each event will feature stories from Simply Eat, (you can take look at some of them here), a theological framework for food and faith, a practical demonstration of preparing food to share, and testimonies from churches that have welcomed more people into their communities by sharing time, friendship and faith over food.
We will gift a copy of Simply Eat (RRP £15) to every person who attends an event.
Don’t miss out on joining with us as we share new ways to make Jesus known over food.
