Spring Harvest and Samaritan's Purse partner up

Evangelical Alliance member Spring Harvest are joining with humanitarian organisation Samaritan’s Purse in a major new partnership aimed at helping Spring Harvest guests connect with people and projects combining practical action and spiritual outreach.

Spring Harvest 2016 will be based on the theme of Game Changers and will encourage and challenge Christians to make a difference in their communities on both spiritual and practical levels.

Cathy Madavan and the Rev Cris Rogers, members of the Spring Harvest planning group, will visit Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse project, in Liberia in December to see first-hand the distribution of gift-packed shoeboxes from the UK and will report on their experiences at Spring Harvest next year.

Samaritan’s Purse executive director Simon Barrington said: “We are delighted to be sharing our front-line overseas mission and relief experience with Spring Harvest guests of all ages and it will be wonderful to make known our activities at an event where there is such a strong commitment to evangelism alongside church based community work.”

Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse project known widely in the UK, has seen more than 120 million shoeboxes distributed in the last 25 years worldwide.

The project connects strongly with children and young people, as both givers and receivers reflecting Spring Harvest’s commitment to high quality activities for all-age groups, teenagers and children.
