How many churches have opened or closed
According to Peter Brierley in his UK Church Statistics 2005-2015 the actual number of churches increased between 2005-2010 and is expected to do so marginally between 2010 and 2015.

- 2010 total number of churches 50,709
- 2015 estimated number of churches 50,934
