Psalm 5: Prayer reflection

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his anointed one. "Let us break their chains," they say, and throw off their fetters. The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.

Power

Mighty Lord, how blinded we can become by power. It is as if we get stars in our eyes. The celebrity, the politician or even the film star. The big, bright and sometimes superficial we become like excited children, captivated by all the world can muster.Yet Lord as nothing to you; in your creative force, your covenant call and your redeeming love. There is none like you, O Lord. Help me to have a greater sense of your glory and power. That we may offer our lives in awe and wonder.

Amen
